Leahgirl - Only you can answer the question is it right for my circumstance of not having room to store a trailer, how often will I use it and how far will I be hauling the bike. If used inqrequently, it seems to have merit. Two things about it I would question 1)if on a chain bike they recommend removing the chain, what about the belt. You are still spinning the same front sprocket/pulley. Is it a lubrication problem for the sprocket/pulley shaft. 2) My main concern however would be backing. A trailer has a fixed toung to push against to back up, this unit to back is pushing against the steering column which turns. I would find this diconcerting unless i'm missing something here. Maybe it's just so easy to remove the bike you would do that rather than back up?
